Tim Melton / I Kings 2 / July 2, 2017 In this sermon Tim teaches that when God said to Solomon, “Ask whatever you wish”, Solomon asked for a good thing – Wisdom. However,
even though wisdom was a good thing, this passage gives us a glimpse of the true nature of Solomon’s idolatrous heart. In the Bible, the word “Wisdom” is defined as “the ability to rule with justice and fairness.” Again, that’s a good thing. But, the one thing Solomon should have asked for was to have a heart for God. Having a relationship with God through Christ is much better than wisdom, since Christ himself is the wisdom and power of God.
